Tao Lin

Born into a musical family in Shanghai, Tao Lin began piano lessons at the age of four, first with his mother and later his father, both on faculty at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. As a soloist, he has performed with the Moscow Chamber Orchestra, Winnipeg Symphony, Miami Orchestra, Knoxville Civic Orchestra, University of Miami Symphony, and Lynn Philharmonia. Tao Lin has performed in Asia, Europe and North America with well-known orchestras, such as the Philadelphia and Minnesota Orchestras and with notable string quartets, such as the Bergonzi and St Petersburg String Quartet.

Zodiac Trio

Don’t miss the The Zodiac Trio on February 10, 2012.
Originally formed at the Manhattan School of Music, The Zodiac Trio enjoys a concert schedule that spans three continents. Kliment Krylovskiy (clarinet), Riko Higuma (piano) and Vanessa Mollard (violin) make up this young and accomplished trio. The 2010-11 season performances included the Virtuosi Series in Winnipeg in Canada, The Four Seasons Performing Arts Centre in Toronto, Berklee College of Music in Boston, Boston Conservatory, the International Colmar Festival, and a return to China for a second tour, among others.
Thanks to a grant from the East Grand Education Foundation the Zodiac Trio will spend a day working with students in the East Grand School District. The Zodiac Trio is a strong advocate of outreach and education for students, introducing them to classical music and encouraging their musical aspirations. They also perform master classes at universities and conservatories, including the Boston Conservatory and the Berklee College of Music.

Hwang-Ainomäe-Hsu Piano Trio

Steinway Artist Hsing-ay Hsu teams up with Colorado Symphony Orchestra (CSO) principals Yumi Hwang-Williams and Silver Ainomae to perform a concert of Mozart and Tchaikovsky. Each artist has garnered international recognition and brings his/her multi-cultural perspectives to music-making (Korea, Estonia/Finland, China).
Hsing-ay Hsu (Sing-I Shoo) is the Artistic Director of Pendulum New Music at CU-Boulder and a piano faculty member at Metro State College of Denver. Since her stage debut at age 4, Hsing-ay Hsu has been performing at such venues as Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center, and internationally in Asia and Europe. Her thoughtful and passionate interpretations have won her international recognition, including the Juilliard William Petschek Debut Award, William Kapell International Piano Competition, Ima Hogg National Competition first-prize, Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowship, Gilmore Young Artist Award, and the Presidential Scholar of the Arts Award from President Clinton, among others. Concerto highlights include the Baltimore, China National, Colorado, Houston, New Jersey, Pacific, and Shanghai Symphony Orchestras.
Yumi Hwang-Williams has served as concertmaster of the Colorado Symphony Orchestra since 2000 and is concertmaster for the Cabrillo Festival Orchestra. She is a faculty member of the Lamont School of Music, University of Denver. Yumi Hwang-Williams began violin studies at the age of 10 in Philadelphia, one year after emigrating from South Korea. At age 15, she appeared as soloist with the Philadelphia Orchestra. Her exceptional musicianship has earned her a reputation as an artist who, in addition to her thoughtful and stylish interpretations of the classics, is known for her commitment to exploring and performing the works of contemporary composers.
Silver Ainomäe recently joined the CSO as principal cellist. He was born in Tallinn, Estonia and began to play cello at age 6. He has performed in nearly 30 different countries, and is a Prize-winner of several International Cello Competitions. He performed with the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, Tapiola Sinfonietta, and the Philharmonia Orchestra in London. He has performed as soloist with Zürich Chamber Orchestra, Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Tapiola Sinfonietta, Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra, Estonian National Orchestra, Polish Radio Orchestra, Pärnu City Orchestra, Tallinn Chamber Orchestra.

Tesla Quartet

The Tesla Quartet was formed at The Juilliard School in 2008 and quickly established itself as one of the most promising young ensembles in New York. The Tesla Quartet includes Ross Snyder, violin; Michelle Lie, violin; Megan Mason, viola; and Kimberly Patterson, cello. The quartet currently holds a fellowship as the Graduate String Quartet-in-Residence at the University of Colorado-Boulder, where they study with the world-renowned Takács Quartet. The Telsa Quartet has performed in New York City, including a recital debut at Alice Tully Hall in 2009. The Quartet has performed throughout Colorado, including in Harris Hall at the 2010 Aspen Music Festival.

Ars Nova Singers

The Ars Nova Singers, a professional-core vocal ensemble conducted by founding Artistic Director Thomas Edward Morgan , is composed of 36 selectively auditioned choral musicians from the Denver/Boulder metropolitan region. In its history, the Ars Nova Singers has presented over 250 performances of more than 100 different concert programs.

A professional period-instrument ensemble with core musicians primarily based in Colorado, the Baroque Chamber Orchestra of Colorado brings to audiences the musical riches and spirit of improvisation of the 17th and 18th centuries.
The ensemble's imaginative program strikes a balance between familiar masterworks and hidden treasures of the Baroque.
